At the age of 4 she began modeling, but it wasn't until she was 17 that she entered her first pageant: Miss Missouri T.E.E.N. After moving to Virginia to attend college, Shana continued competing and modeling in her spare time. In 1994 she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Liberty University. Shana was formerly Director of the Miss Festival of Virginia, a pageant system for girls of all ages, that she started in 1996. In only four years, the pageant system has had over 15 state queens from the Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants, sit on its judging panel. The pageant also gave away (with the help of a local university) over $48,000 in scholarships and awards. Currently, Shana travels around the country conducting "Watching the Winners" seminars. These are pageant preparation workshops designed to bring her book "to life", covering everything you need to help you reach your maximum pageant potential.
