Carissa's Message to 2001 Teen Miss Angelic Queen of Washington Contestants

"The main volunteer and community service activity I am involved in is Search an drescue. I am currently a Team Leader for Washington Explorer Search and Rescue-Kitsap Unit. I am also the newly elected Vice-President. I joined Search and Rescue three years ago, and spend an average of 360 hours a year doing program activities. Another way that I do community service is through Girl Scouts. In order to earn my Girl Scout Silver Award, I had to not only earn several awards and badges, but also come up with and complete a 30 hour community service project."

Carissa has received two Academic Varsity Letters and has also been listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students. She has been named Student of the Month (twice) and was listed on the Honor Roll.

Carissa has earned both Silver and Gold Leadership Awards through her participation in the Girl Scouts organization. She is currently certified in First Aid and CPR for the professional Rescuer and Lifegaurding. Carissa has studied Spanish (4 years), dance, and drama. She has also earned the title of Miss American Rose Washington State Talent Princess.
