"My community involvement is very important to me because it allows me to feel like I am giving something back to the community. Currently, I am a member of Team Bank of America, where I am involved in working for diversity and awareness. I am also bowling for the big brother and big sister program. My favorite activity is working for the YMCA tutoring program at my college. This program allowa me to tutor one day a week, providing assistance in math and english. I am glad that I have had the opportunity to volunteer because it lets me know how truly blessed I am."

Some of Ericka's academic honors include: the Presidential Scholar Award, the Delta Sigma Theta Scholar Award, the Ponder Business Scholarship, and the Scholarship Pin. Ericka has also been a member of the National Honor Society, Dean's List, and Honor Roll.

Ericka is a member of Student Government, the Legion of Black Collegiates, and Safeteam. She also enjoys music and has played the violin for eight years.
